A Digital Service is any service that is delivered electronically over the internet.
Some of the most common means through which a digital service can be delivered are:
- A Website
- A Mobile App
- Cloud computing, such as software as a service (SaaS) or platform as a service (PaaS)
- an application programming interface (API)
Difference between Digital Services and Digitally-enabled Services
Strictly speaking, Digital Services are services where the only touch point between the customer and the provider is an electronic interface, while Digitally-enabled Services are any kind of “traditional” services that are enhanced by the use of digital technologies.
